Community Journal
Friday-Monday at 11am, 6pm, and 8pm

Community Journal is a weekly “magazine” style show produced by volunteers at Harwich Channel 18. In the 13th year of production, Community Journal continues to be the Channel’s most watched show. Community Journal’s set, painted by local artist Joe Pino, depicts a beach scene representing the seaside town of Harwich. Stories ranging from interviews with town employees, to musical segments, keep the viewers in touch with the community. Volunteers reach out to the community and conduct interviews in the field as well as host guests in the studio. Community Journal is hosted by Betty Pino, Paul Coughlin, Eileen and Jack Wyatt. The Community Journal crew includes Florence Lebenson, Eileen Wyatt, Joyce Roche, Ron Armbruster and staff members Jamie Lee Goodwin and Caleb Ladue.
Community Journal is always looking for story ideas! If you have a suggestion, please call us here at the studio at 508-430-7569.

COA Programming

Friday-Monday 5pm

COA director Barbara Ann Foley uses the Channel to bring news, important to seniors, into their living rooms. Barbara Ann has produced many shows with topics ranging from legal issues of estate planning to stress relief. Harwich Channel 18 has taped many of the COA’s forums held at the Community Center to allow those who could not attend to be able to watch the content at home. The Harwich COA has been able to attract several speakers from the State House office of Elder affairs and the Attorney General’s office to present at the community center. Having these types of programs on the Channel has been a great advantage to the senior citizen’s of Harwich.
Channel 18 programs the COA shows at 5pm Mon.-Fri. as well as during several other time slots.
Channel 18 also provides many of the COA’s productions on DVD’s which are available for loan. Seniors can take home DVD’s and watch shows at their leisure.
