The Harwich Community Center opened in 2000.  It is a modern single-floor, 32,000 square foot building.  The Community Center hours of operation are from 8:30am until 10:00pm Monday through Friday and 9am until 5pm on Saturday.  The building hosts the Recreation Department, Council on Aging, Emergency Management, and Channel 18.

The building has five Activity Rooms; two are located on the Council on Aging side and three are located on the recreation side.  The Activity rooms are used for numerous organizations in town with a total estimated capacity of 50 people per room in four of the five rooms; one room is smaller and holds an estimated 25 people.  The multi-purpose room has a platform and is used for larger events.  The estimated capacity for this room is 200, but the set-up can be varied depending on individual needs.
